I am back

ok, I do have to really apologize for the long silence to whoever (anybody out there?) has been following my blog, but a few things happened in my life that kept me extremely busy during the last months. Also, it’s fair to add a bit of laziness (and sleep deprivation) to the list below:

1- Two re-locations. Now I have three apartments to undust: one in London, one in Milan, one in Antwerp (the diamonds capital of the world)

2- One job change. I left Yahoo in October, to join Truvo as VP of New Media. For whoever doesn’t know Truvo (there might still be a couple of people out there), it is the Belgian yellow pages, formerly World Directories, with interests in -surprise- Belgium, Portugal, Ireland, Romania, South Africa and Puerto Rico. Yes, I joined the old directories business, and it’s exciting. Will tell you about this in the coming days and months

3- I had a baby. Well, technically my wife had a baby, but I was active part of the whole thing. His name is Lorenzo, and is doing extremely well. He already grabs objects and smiles a lot and, most importantly, keeps me awake at night. But that doesn’t help with blog writing. Also, it might be a coincidence, but other 3 people in my team had a baby in the last 2 months. A requirement to join Truvo new media?

Other things happened during the last months (recession/depression is now broadly recognized, a couple of countries went bust, half of my friends working in finance now work in farming, the Dow is down, real estate is down even more etc etc) with far reaching consequences. Will certainly chip on that in the future.
