#superbowl tweets per second

WOW! #superbowl reached 4064 tweets per seconds right at the end of the game. The all time record for Twitter was almost 7000 tweets per second in Japan, at New Years Eve.

Check out the amazing chart which plots the evolution of tweets during the Superbowl. From 15pm to 20pm there has been an average of, say, 2000 tweet per second (probably more). That makes about 36 million tweets during the Superbowl with #superbowl. How can you possibly follow such a stream of tweets?
