This time focused on big advertisement spenders and industries in US, 2008 vs 2007 comparison, brought us by TNS Media Intelligence of WPP.

Snippets:

  1. Q408 vs Q407 -9.2% total US advertising spend
  2. 2008 vs 2007 -4.1%
  3. auto industry -15% spend in 2008, down to 12.8bn$
  4. Procter (US largest advertiser) cut 7% to 3.2bn$ (wow!)
  5. finance industry: steady at -0.3%, down to 9.6bn$  (surprise!)
