Chrome
I think Google’s browser is a good piece of software. I am using it, and find it quite cool. Not that is anything much beyond Firefox, but it’s nice to use new things.
What really disturbs me is the T&C, where they state that, plain and simple, any content produced with Google browser becomes IP of Google. Quite disturbing, to be honest. It would be like BIC, the famous pen producer, claiming IP over anything I write on a piece of paper. It doesn’t really make any sense, does it?
One could argue that I pay for the BIC pen, while Chrome is free. Yet again, Chrome allows Google collecting data on my surfing activities that will help them monetize better their ads. Hence, to some extent, I am “paying” the product.
These crazy T&Cs could prevent Chrome diffusion through corporate, universities, research department and so on so forth. Hopefully, they are not enforceable. I think content remains IP of the producer, regardless of the means used to make it available to the world. Google’s “no-evil” claims seem not being respected with Chrome. Shame on them. This is why I keep on posting with Firefox. IE? I don’t use it. Only the 64bits version on my Vista, when I fancy travelling 64bit.
